Butte County Jail Visitation
Every week, there are two forty-five-minute visiting periods for inmates: one on Saturday and one on Sunday. Visitors under eighteen years old should be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. While any number of people are permitted to visit the inmates within the allotted time, only one adult at a time is allowed to enter the visiting area to visit the inmate.
Visitors should provide a valid government picture identification such as a state identification card, state operator's license, passport, or military identification card to prove their identity.
According to the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), Masking has been no longer required for inmate visiting since April 3, 2023. In order to facilitate visitor registration, visitors must arrive forty-five minutes in advance.
Please note that video and audio recording devices are prohibited within the Butte County Sheriff's Office. Visitors must wear appropriate clothing and do not take food and beverages. Visitors can only communicate with the inmates they have signed up to visit.
