In order to provide the public with a service for accessing information about the inmates currently incarcerated in Sacramento County jail, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office has established a tool - Sacramento County Inmate Search. All information shown by Inmate Search for arrested/in-custody persons is most recently known to the Sheriff's Office. However, as persons move through the judicial process, the information may change. Therefore, sometimes the information acquired by the users may not be accurate or correct. If you want to use the information, please confirm it with the appropriate entities.

How to Use Inmate Search to Find Inmates in Sacramento County Jail?

There are two ways that you can search for an inmate: Search by Name and Search by X-Ref Number. To search by name, you need to enter a first and last name and the captcha confirmation code. To search by X-Ref number, you need to enter the inmate's X-Ref Number and the captcha confirmation code. X-Ref number, or cross-reference number, is a special number that identifies the inmate's information in the Sacramento County Public Safety System.

Having entered the relevant information, you will get a list of inmate information consisting of the inmate's name, date of birth, and custody status. To see more details about the inmate, click the link of the inmate's name. You will get detailed information about the inmate, including X-Ref number, booking/registry number, sex, height, weight, visits used this week, facility, housing location, mailing address, booking date/time, arresting agency, type of arrest, charges/bail, total bail, outstanding warrants, projected release date, next court date, and court.

Sacramento County Jail Visitation

Every inmate has two 45-minute social visits per week, Sunday through Saturday. The Morning/Afternoon visiting hours are 7:30, 8:30, 9:30, 11:30, 12:30, 1:30, and 2:30, and the Evening visiting hours are 4:30, 5:30, 7:30 8:30, and 9:30. The order of visitation is determined by the principle "first come, first served.".

Visitors under the age of 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. A maximum of three visitors including infants and children are allowed to visit at one time. Valid identification must be presented before visiting.

Visitors should dress in appropriate attire and not take anything except identification, keys, and small wallet to the visiting areas.
