Kings County Inmate Locator

The Kings County Inmate Locator is a search bar provided by the Kings County Sheriff's Office, which allows you to search for information about the persons who are currently incarcerated in the Kings County jail. The information displayed on the page is the most recent information known to the Sheriff's Office, including the general information (name, sex, race, DOB, age, person number, booking number, height, weight, and eyes), arrest details (arrest date/time, agency, booking date/time, scheduled release, and actual release), charge details (charge, description, bail, classification, and court case number).

How to Use Inmate Locator to Find Inmates in Kings County Jail?

Two search criteria are available: Search by Booking Number and Search by Inmate Name. You can select "All Inmates", "24 Hours" or "72 Hours" from the drop-down listing in the top right corner of the page to determine the range of search results according to the booking date/time of the inmates. The search tips are described as follows.

To search by booking number, you need to know the eight-digit booking number first. The general form of the booking number is two digits plus (-) plus six digits, for example, 12-345678. The two digits at the beginning of the booking number normally stand for the year when the inmate was booked, for example, "12" in "12-345678" stands for the year of "2012".

To search by inmate name, you need to enter the first name and/or last name in the search field. If you are not sure of the spelling of the inmate's name, you can enter any letter(s) of the name. Try to enter as many letters as possible to get more precise results. In addition to exactly matching the letters you enter, the search results also contain the separate letters of what you enter. For example, if you enter "JA", both "JACK" and "JIM ACEVEDO" will display.

Having entered the booking number or inmate name in the search field, click the "Search" button. A new page will appear. You can get a list of incarcerated person records that briefly introduce the name, person number, booking number, sex, race, DOB, and age of the inmates. To see more details about the inmate, click the record of the inmate. On the inmate details page, you can also apply for notification of inmate status updates and schedule a visitation by clicking the two links at the top.
