How to Use Inmate Search to Find Inmates in Kern County Jail?
There are two search criteria you can use to find an inmate: Search by Inmate Number and Search by Inmate Name.
If searching by inmate number, enter just the number section of the inmate number, including any zeros at the start of the inmate number. The inmate numbers consists of an agency/organization code SO (stands for Sheriff's Office) and a seven-digit number, for example: SO 1234567.
If searching by inmate name, enter all or part of the inmate's first name (at least two letters) and all or part of the last name (at least one letter) in the search fields. Only all or part of the first name (at least two letters) is also accepted. Try to enter as many letters as possible to narrow the search results. The search results will exactly match what you enter and also partially match the letters you enter. For example, if you enter the last name of JO, an inmate with the last name of JOSE might be shown.
