Ventura County Inmate Search

The Ventura County Inmate Search is a public service provided by the Ventura County Sheriff's Office as a search tool that allows users to search for information about inmates currently incarcerated at the Ventura County detention facilities. The County Sheriff's Office is responsible for updating the information contained in the database.

How to Use Inmate Search to Find Inmates in Ventura County Jail?

There are two methods you can use to find an inmate: Search by Name and Search by Booking Number. To search by name, you need to enter the last name (required, at least two characters), first name (required, at least one character), middle name, and date of birth in the search fields. Try to enter as much information as possible to get more accurate search results.

To search by booking number, enter the booking number in the search field. Then click the "Search" button. A new page will appear on which a listing of incarcerated person records is shown, containing the last name, first name, middle name, date of birth, age, gender, race, booking number, and booked date of the inmates. To email an inmate, click on the red envelope icon next to the individual's name. If you want to see more detailed information about the inmate, click on the incarcerated person record.

You will see the inmate information (name, DOB, age, sex, height, weight, race, eyes, hair color, occupation, place of birth, and scheduled release date), arrest information (arrest date, booked date, agency, booking number, and report number), bail information (total bail amount and whether eligible for release), current housing location (housing location, whether allowed for visiting, facility, facility address, and facility phone), next court date (case number, court date, court location, and court address), and case information (case number, booking authority, court date, bail amount, charges/offense, and link to courts).

Ventura County Jail Visitation

All inmates are allowed two 30-minute visits per week. A maximum of two visitors (two adults, or one adult and one minor child) can visit an inmate at one time. Minor children must be accompanied by a parent, grandparent, or legal guardian.

Before visiting, visitors should present photo identification which is issued by a government agency, such as a valid driver's license, identification card, military identification, valid/current passport, immigration identification card, etc. Please dress appropriately and do not take any food and beverages, or smoke inside the visiting area.

A personal key ring, personal identification, and one baby bottle and/or blanket (if bringing in an infant) are allowed in the visiting area.
